Help us raise £4.41 million to provide vital healthcare in Bihar, India
EMMS International is raising funds to drastically improve healthcare infrastructure, health education facilities, and health services at our partner, The Duncan Hospital . The visionary project provides sustainable solutions to the many challenges faced by the hospital.
Serving an extremely poor population from Bihar state and the Nepal border area, the hospital provides essential healthcare, prioritising the needs of the most vulnerable people including women and girls, people with non-communicable diseases, people with chronic illness or infectious diseases and children under 5.
Work began in 2022 and, with your help, will be completed ahead of the hospital's 100th anniversary. We're asking for you to help us reach our fundraising target so that Duncan Hospital can continue to meet the healthcare needs of its communities for the next 100 years and beyond.

These were the words of Shreemikhi’s father when her teachers came to her home to congratulate her for outstanding exam results. He was set on arranging her marriage, but, with her mother’s help, Shreemikhi persuaded him to allow her to continue her studies.
With support from EMMS International, Shreemikhi is now training to become a Nurse Midwife. With her hard work and determination she has won the respect of her father and community. She hopes she will be an example to other girls in her village, in a state where 60% of girls marry before age 18.
